Key Points
- Channel ADHD or Intense Focus Productively
Harness hyperfocus and rapid learning (common in ADHD) by directing energy toward deep dives in passions, rather than scattering it. This fuels rapid skill acquisition and early successes. - Find Personal Outlets for Emotional Sensitivity
Use creative pursuits like music or writing as therapeutic tools to process and contain intense emotions, providing structure and release during chaotic life periods. - Cultivate Non-judgmental Creativity
Actively reduce preconceived judgments (about genres, ideas, or people) to open yourself to freer inspiration and faster problem-solving in both art and entrepreneurship. - Prioritize Consistency Over Excitement
Long-term success comes from repetitive, “boring” actions (e.g., weekly podcast episodes) rather than relying on initial stimulus. Build systems to sustain efforts. - Take Action, but Balance with Restraint
Develop strong action-bias to escape overthinking, yet learn to pause gut reactions and let ideas prove themselves over time for better outcomes. - Seek Trusted Filters for Decisions
Rely on a small circle of proven advisors (e.g., partner or spouse) to veto impulsive ideas, compensating for personal blind spots in judgment. - Embrace Radical Candor in Partnerships
Be direct and challenging upfront when evaluating collaborators. It quickly identifies resilient, growth-minded people who can thrive in high-intensity environments. - Apply Portfolio Thinking
Treat ventures like a numbers game. Make many qualified bets, expect most to fail, and stay resilient long enough for the few winners to pay off. - Network Transactionally at Scale
Provide value generously without immediate expectations, pursue opportunities relentlessly, and expect that most efforts in this regard will not yield results (it’s just name of the game). - Aim for “Good Enough” with Iteration
Focus on consistent, efficient output using tools and automation, then improve incrementally. Perfectionism slows progress, while steady “good enough” compounds over time.

Intro
[Key video clips from our conversation.]
You need to ignore the statistical outliers and that’s always stuck with me.
I’m a big believer in good enough.
How can I be smart enough to use tools, automation and techniques to get something that’s good enough and then just make sure that I can do it a lot, over time.
Be able to do it yourself very, very far is probably the best way to do it currently and probably also in the future.
