Backstory

I have always been interested in trying out and learning new things. To me, this contributes to expanding my horizon and both widening and deepening the experience of living.

I’ve been fascinated by people who possess a large range of skills and seem to have a vast amount of knowledge. Fictional characters such as Jason Borne or James Bond comes to mind, and there are a certain set of real-life characters that inspire through both their wide and deep knowledge of the world such as Elon Musk, Naval Ravikant, Balaji Srinivasan, Peter Thiel, Jen-Hsun (“Jensen”) Huang, Tim Ferriss, Andrew Huberman, etc.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been on this journey. Passionately taking on new endeavors to learn new skills and acquire more knowledge. I’m still on this journey of continuous self-discovery and improvement. Working to fulfill the sense that the greatest thing about today, is that I’m better than I was yesterday. Along the way, I have made several key learnings that I wish knew at a much earlier age. As a consequence of this, I decided to try to finally structure my learnings a bit more in order to make them available to my daughter. The thinking was that when she got old enough to understand the first pieces, she would have the benefit of capitalizing on what took me a long time to learn, already from early age. All of this because I want the best for her, because I love her so very much.

The greatest thing about today, is that I’m better than I was yesterday.
By continuously working on becoming your best self, the value you bring to others when you show up in the world will only increase.

As I started working on this, I realized that if I’m going to do this, I might as well put the extra effort into making it as high-quality, well thought-through and structured as I possibly can. I should also be able to continually refine it, as I learn more, or find better ways to communicate it.

Reasoning further, I thought that if I invested so much time into it, it would also make sense to share it with more people. By sharing with more people, a wider audience would come to benefit (not only my daughter), which also intuitively made sense. I would also be able to get feedback from more people on the material, which would only serve to further improve it.

Moreover, I reasoned that since I’m so passionate about this, it would be great to be able to connect with other people across the globe who also share this journey. Based on this, it made sense to try to build a community around it, so that we all could help elevate each other and support each other’s journey. From this, Accelerated Learning was born.

About Me

Hey ๐Ÿ‘‹ Iโ€™m Joachim, and working as a consultant for Fortune 50 companies I had to accelerate my learning in order to advice management and executives on how the latest tech might impact their business and how they could leverage it. To do that, I needed to learn a multitude of domains, skills and technologies very quickly. Soon I developed a framework, tools and techniques for how to accelerate my learning. After a decade in consulting, I joined as employee #9 in a start-up and helped to successfully scale it. Once again, I used and further refined the toolkit of accelerated learning. I remain on this journey and continue to learn & refine my knowledge tree. Through the articles on this website, the videos on my YouTube channel, and posts on social media, I share evidence-based strategies, tools and techniques to help you accelerate your learning to become healthy, wealthy and wise.

Accolades
In my late 20s, I built a delivery unit from 1 person to 37 in 9 months managing 14-17 projects. Took over an additional delivery unit, now leading about 80 people. Grew this to about 100 people. Then, took on the responsibility of leading 425 people across 4 continents, from a commercial and contractual perspective in my early 30s. For this effort, I received some awards, here are a few of them:

  • Top 100 – Assessit’s Young Leaders of the Year 2016 in Norway, across industries (below 40 years)
  • Top 100 – E24’s Leadership talents 2015 in Norway, across industries (below 34 years)
  • Top 100 – E24’s Leadership talents 2014 in Norway, across industries (below 34 years)

Contributed to scale a startup from less than 10 people to ~50 people and more than 10x the market value of the company across ~3 years.

Dark Mode

This website is designed in dark mode. This means that, instead of the default dark text on a light (usually white background), a light color text (white or grey) is presented against a dark or black background. The idea behind dark mode is that it reduces the light emitted by our screens, while maintaining the minimum color contrast ratios required for readability. This makes it more comfortable to read and leads to less strain on your eyes, since you are exposed to less bright white light (which is especially important later in the day, and for people who spend a lot of time in front of screens).

To learn more about the benefits of dark mode, and how to apply it to devices, browsers and apps continue reading here.
